Bella Thorne: Actress, singer and director
Bella Thorne is an American actress who became known as a teenager on the Disney Channel series Shake It Up, then moved on to film, music and directing.
In August 2020 she opened a subscription page, and Variety reported that she earned about $1 million in her first 24 hours, according to the platform. The launch was widely covered and led to a public debate about pricing and refunds, which prompted platform policy changes.
Her official X profile now links to her page on Passes, another creator platform.
Why she stands out
Her launch is still cited whenever people discuss celebrity entry into fan platforms, partly because of the record first-day figure and partly because of the backlash that followed. Some fans felt the content did not match what they expected for the price, and the platform introduced changes afterward. It is a useful case study in managing expectations: describe exactly what fans will get, and make sure the price matches.

What creators can learn from her strategy
If you are building your own page, here is what we would borrow from the way Bella Thorne works:
- A celebrity launch can bring huge first-day revenue but also huge scrutiny.
- Clear pricing and honest descriptions protect both fans and the creator.
- She moved platforms over time, which shows the value of owning your audience directly.
The common thread is control: of your links, your audience and your brand.
