Stop Calling Him "Babe": How One Chat Tweak Took Daily Sales From $200 to $1,000

This is a real coaching case from our work with creators. The figures are the creator's own, originally in euros; we show the rough dollar equivalent next to them.
The creator was already a success: over 1,000 subscribers on MYM Fans, ranked in the top 1% of the platform. Yet one part of her business was stuck.
The problem: chat sales hit a ceiling
She focused on her OnlyFans page while a chat assistant handled her MYM inbox all day. Despite those long hours, chat revenue was flat at about €200 a day (roughly $215), and it never broke the €300 (about $325) daily barrier.
More hours, same money. Something in the conversations wasn't working.
The analysis: zero personalization
We went through screenshots of the conversations. The main issue jumped out:
- Messages were generic. The same lines went to every fan, whatever he had said before.
- "Babe" everywhere. The assistant called every fan "babe." It sounds sweet, but for many fans it's one of the worst words you can use: it screams copy-paste and you're one of many.
There were a few other adjustments too, but the big win was personalization.
The fix: talk to him, not to "fans"
We recommended three changes:
- Change the tone. Drop the pet names that feel automatic. Use his name, or nothing.
- Ask open questions. "What made you smile today?" beats "Want to see something hot, babe?"
- Reply to his history. Reference what he said last week, what he bought, what he likes. Then offer content that matches.
When a fan feels recognized, he relaxes, stays longer in the conversation and buys more naturally.
The result: €1,000 in five hours
Two days later, the creator messaged us:
"I love it. I told my chat assistant to adapt her messages to each conversation, and it worked! Yesterday she made €1,000 in 5 hours (≈ $1,100). She's improving like crazy!"
Same assistant, same fans, same content. Only the way she talked changed. The account kept its top 1% position.

If you use a chatter, stay in charge
- Brief them on your voice: words you use, words you never use.
- Share fan notes so every message builds on the last one.
- Review conversations weekly. Your name is on that page.
- Check platform rules: OnlyFans has added guidance on agencies and account control. See our news on agencies and account control.
FAQ
Why is "babe" a bad word in fan messages?
It's not forbidden, but when everyone gets it, it feels automatic. Fans pay to feel personally noticed; generic pet names break that feeling.
How do I personalize messages at scale?
Keep short notes on each fan (name, likes, past purchases), use open questions and tailor offers to what he told you. Quality beats volume.
Can a chat assistant really increase my sales?
Yes, if they write in your voice and personalize. A chatter sending generic messages all day can earn less than you would in one focused hour.
Are these numbers typical?
No. They're one creator's real results after coaching. Your results depend on your audience, offer and consistency.
The lesson
Stagnation is often a detail problem, not a traffic problem. Before you chase new fans, listen to how you talk to the ones you already have.
