Subs vs OnlyFans (2026): A Guide for Creators: Girls Lounge cover image (AI-generated illustration)

Subs is the new platform with a familiar founder. OnlyFans is the established giant. If you create content in the US, you are probably wondering whether Subs is worth a try.

Here is what each platform's own terms and help pages say, as checked in October 2026.

The short answer

Both keep 20% and pay you 80%. Pick Subs if you want an early spot on a growing platform with clear, published withdrawal rules. Keep OnlyFans if your audience already lives there.

Can US creators use Subs?

Yes. Subs is run from the US, its help center tells US creators to sign a W-9 so payouts can be reported to the IRS, and you can withdraw to a bank account or a MassPay wallet.

Outside the US, availability depends on whether your country appears in the bank setup list.

Fees

Subs' terms charge creators 20% of subscriber payments, excluding VAT. OnlyFans' terms also set a 20% fee per fan payment. On fees alone, it is a tie.

Getting paid

Subs publishes its rules clearly: once earnings clear and your available balance reaches $50, you can request a withdrawal, processed within seven business days.

OnlyFans also pays on request once a minimum is met. Its terms do not state the amount, so check your banking settings.

Founders and momentum

Subs was co-founded by Tim Stokely, an OnlyFans co-founder. In October 2026 it announced that Megan Fox had become a co-owner and opened her page there.

A young platform can mean less competition and more attention from the team. It also means a smaller audience today, so plan to bring your own fans.

How to test Subs without risk

  • Keep your main page where it is.
  • Open a Subs page with one clear reason to follow you there, like exclusive behind-the-scenes posts.
  • Announce it with one link and keep your prices consistent.
